Sharing with their employees and the Brookings community is a cornerstone of the Larson Manufacturing culture. For the past several decades, Larson employees have seen and responded to many needs in the community. Employees also recognize the value the Brookings Area United Way provides to individuals of all backgrounds.
The Brookings Area United Way community challenge this year was $1.2 million in contributions. Larson Manufacturing employees raised $253,017 toward that campaign.

“At Larson we value sharing our time, talents and resources with our local communities,” said Jeff Rief, president and CEO of Larson Manufacturing. “True to form, Larson stepped up and supported the community needs by having almost 90 percent participation in the drive and raising our highest contribution ever. We were excited to see such an amazing level of generosity from the Larson team to help support our local communities.”
Multiple times a year, the Larson United Way Committee meets to discuss ways to raise money year-round. In addition to the community-wide campaign in the fall, the committee organizes fundraising events. The events range from Bingo night at the VFW to meal fundraisers and raffles.
