BROOKINGS – Wireless World will give out free backpacks filled with school supplies from 10 a.m.-noon Saturday, July 27.
This is the second year of the Verizon retailer’s annual “Backpack to School” program.
A child (K-12) must be present to claim their free backpack, and no purchase is necessary to receive a backpack. A limited number will be available.
Wireless World is located at 1726 Sixth St., next to Arby’s.
“One of our main core values is to serve the community, and we have several initiatives both locally and nationally that we participate in throughout the year,” said a press release from the company.
The Backpack to School program involves employees, customers and vendor partners. “We have initiated a companywide employee program to donate backpacks as well as donations from our loyal guests in the stores. Each backpack that is donated at one of our 46 locations will be distributed to children in that local area,” the press release said.
“The cost for school supplies increases more and more each year. Wireless World would like to help make it a little easier for families to afford these essential supplies and ensure students start off the school year prepared and confident.”
Wireless World can be reached at 692-2000.
