Survey to identify gaps and opportunities for future program development
Brookings Economic Development Corporation (BEDC) is conducting a survey to evaluate workforce training and education opportunities in the region. This assessment is open to all Brookings County businesses that presently offer upskilling courses and those that may have a future need.
“The advancement and upskilling of employees will be key as we navigate the ever-changing landscape of our economy,” said Sarah Hauge, Director of Workforce Development for BEDC. “Through collaborative efforts with business and community leaders and our educational partners we hope to identify unmet needs as well as opportunities for improvement.”
Effective training is widely acknowledged as the key to mitigating the impact of the skills gap in a variety of industries, according to Hauge. The data collected from the survey will be utilized in the development and implementation of future programs for the Brookings area workforce.
Businesses are asked to complete the short survey by Friday, May 22nd for their chance to win a $25 gift card from a local business. Individual survey responses will be kept confidential, while aggregate results will be shared with BEDC’s educational partners as well as other interested parties.
