BEDC and SDSU co-host free online webinar supporting innovators

Knowing how to best protect your business idea or product can seem a bit confusing. An upcoming free webinar will help guide you through the steps to take to ensure your intellectual property is kept secure. 

Patent attorney Matt Poulsen PhD of Suiter Swantz based in Omaha, NE will be presenting a virtual webinar on intellectual property on Thursday, February 4th from 2pm-3pm.

The webinar is intended to support a wide audience from innovators, entrepreneurs and business owners to researchers, students and beyond with the goal of providing an overview of the types of intellectual property and the filing process.

As a collaborative partner in the Economic Development Administration (EDA) funded University Center, Brookings Economic Development Corporation (BEDC) is excited to co-host this event with South Dakota State University.

“Having access to the right resources at the right time is critical to innovators as well as existing business owners.” said Jennifer Quail, BEDC’s Director of Entrepreneur Support. “We see this webinar as a way to provide valuable information and support which in turn encourages economic development.”

The mission of the University Center is to foster innovative economic development throughout the State of South Dakota by utilizing university resources, forging strategic collaborative partnerships, and addressing industry-driven needs.
