First ever Pop-up Market to be held March 11
By: Brookings Economic Development Corporation
Brookings Economic Development Corporation (BEDC) is excited to announce they will be hosting Brookings’ first Pop-up Market on Saturday, March 11 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Brookings City Recreation Center (armory building) on Main Avenue. The event will feature a dozen up-and-coming new businesses showcasing their unique products and services. If you can’t attend in March, the Brookings Pop-up Market will be held again on April 15 and May 13.
“We were thrilled with the level of interest from entrepreneurs in the community,” said Jennifer Quail, director of entrepreneur support for BEDC. “So far, we have twenty-three different vendors who will be participating in at least one of the market days.”
In order to qualify as a vendor, businesses cannot currently have a physical brick and mortar location, according to Quail. “The intent is to allow entrepreneurs to gain valuable feedback from Brookings residents on their business ideas, to see if they are ready to take that next step of growing their business,” she said.”It’s also a great opportunity for residents to support these entrepreneurs and shop local.”
There is no cost to attend the market, and the list of vendors includes food, health and beauty products, furniture, arts, jewelry, life coaching, travel services and more. Door prizes will also be given away throughout the event. For more information, email firstname.lastname@example.org or call (605) 697-8103.
