For those looking to expand one’s knowledge or gain an edge in the job market by earning a certificate, South Dakota State University might be the place to be. SDSU was recently ranked No. 26 by Learn.org for Best Online Certificate Programs.
Online certificate programs are designed to specialize students in one field of study, help them improve their job prospects or prepare them for certifications in their professional careers. Generally, online certificate programs consist of a small set of classes focused on only one field of study and can be earned in undergraduate, graduate or postmaster programs.
SDSU offers online undergraduate certificates in workplace intercultural competence, geographic information sciences and phlebotomy to name a few. Those seeking a graduate certificate can find a variety of options, including animal science, community development, family financial planning and management foundations, while there is also a postgraduate psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner certificate available. We’re thrilled how the university continues to push the envelope with online certifications.”
Learn.org’s school ranking methodology categorizes and assesses data from schools and other reliable sources, such as the U.S. Department of Education, and weighs the information based on quality, cost, value and other factors critical to students’ academic decisions.
South Dakota State University’s online certificates could require students to take anywhere from three to eight total classes. The timeframe for earning an online certificate can also vary, with most programs designed to be completed in a couple of semesters to two years. Most of these certificate programs can be completed 100% online. However, a limited number may require a real-world element, such as an internship or clinical experience.
